FLANNEL FLAG started with an image. One night, an artist was performing in front of an American flag wearing flannel, and the title presented itself almost immediately: FLANNEL FLAG. The idea was mentioned to a few people. They blew it off. So the song got written anyway. What came out of it was bigger than the image that started it. FLANNEL FLAG is about conviction — the things that run through you so deeply they become part of who you are. It is about standing for what you believe, holding onto your own identity, and refusing to let somebody else decide what matters to you. No icons required. No borrowed identity. No loyalty stronger than the responsibility to know yourself and stand behind what you believe. The flag is the visual. The real subject is what runs through your blood.
